How to connect Discord

Connecting Discord requires creating a Discord application and bot, then adding it to your server.

Step 1 — Create a Discord application

  1. Go to discord.com/developers/applications and log in.
  2. Click New Application.
  3. Give it a name (e.g. Acme Support) and click Create.

Step 2 — Get the Application ID

  1. In the application page, go to General Information.
  2. Copy the Application ID.

Step 3 — Create a bot and get the token

  1. In the left menu, click Bot.
  2. Click Reset Token and confirm.
  3. Copy the token. You will not be able to see it again.
  4. Under Privileged Gateway Intents, enable Message Content Intent.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Step 4 — Add the bot to your server

  1. In the left menu, click OAuth2 → URL Generator.
  2. Under Scopes, check bot.
  3. Under Bot Permissions, check Send Messages and Read Message History.
  4. Copy the generated URL and open it in your browser.
  5. Select your server and click Authorise.

Step 5 — Enter the details in your dashboard

  1. Open your OpenClaw configuration dashboard.
  2. Click Communication Channels → Discord.
  3. Paste the Bot token and Application ID.
  4. Click Connect Discord.
