How to Set Up and Use Your Business Postiz Server
Welcome to your Cloud Acropolis Business Postiz instance. This guide covers everything you need to get started — from your first login through scheduling and publishing posts across your social media accounts. Your Postiz server is fully managed, protected, and dedicated to you.
1. Accessing Your Postiz Server
Your Postiz URL was sent to you in your welcome email. It follows this format:
https://bpz-{number}.cabiz.lt
Postiz has its own built-in registration and login. No one-time email code (OTP) is required to access the main interface.
2. First-Time Setup
Step 1 — Create Your Account
Open your Postiz URL and click Register. Enter your own email address and choose a strong, unique password. This first account you create becomes the administrator of your instance.
Step 2 — Disable Registration (Required)
Right after creating your account, anyone who knows your Postiz URL can still register their own account on your instance. Disable this immediately:
- Log in to your Postiz instance
- Go to Settings
- Find the Allow Registration (or similarly named) option
- Turn it off
Step 3 — Connect Your Social Media Accounts
- Go to Settings → Providers
- Choose the platform you want to connect (X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Mastodon, Bluesky, and more)
- Follow the on-screen steps to authorize Postiz via the platform's own login (OAuth) — Postiz never asks for your social media password directly
- Repeat for each platform you want to manage
3. Understanding the Interface
Main Dashboard
The calendar view is your main workspace, showing scheduled and published posts across all connected platforms. Switch between calendar, list, and other views from the top of the screen.
Settings
Access Settings from the main menu to manage connected platforms, your account details, and instance-level options like registration (see Section 2, Step 2).
4. Creating and Scheduling Posts
Creating a Post
- Click + Create Post from the dashboard
- Choose which connected platform(s) to post to — you can select multiple at once
- Write your content in the editor. Each platform has its own tab if you want to customize the text per platform
- Attach images or videos if needed
- Choose Post Now or pick a date and time to schedule
Using AI Assistance
Postiz includes AI-assisted content tools. Click the AI icon in the post editor and describe what you want (for example, "write a LinkedIn post announcing our new product launch") — the AI will draft content you can edit before scheduling.
Media Uploads
You can upload images and videos directly when creating a post. Uploaded files are stored on your dedicated server, not shared with any other Cloud Acropolis customer.
5. Team Collaboration
If your plan includes multiple users, you can invite team members to collaborate on content. Check Settings for team/member management options. Each team member should have their own login — avoid sharing a single account between multiple people.
6. Security and Best Practices
Your Server Security
Your Cloud Acropolis Postiz instance is protected by:
- Dedicated VM — your instance is not shared with other customers
- Firewall (UFW) — only necessary ports are open
- Network perimeter security — all traffic to your server passes through Cloud Acropolis's network security, which performs real-time antivirus inspection on uploaded media before it reaches your server
- Checkmk monitoring — 24/7 infrastructure monitoring by Cloud Acropolis
- Automated health checks — automated verification that Postiz and its database are running
- Nightly backups — your data is backed up every night
Best Practices
- Disable registration immediately after creating your account (see Section 2, Step 2) — this is the single most important security step for this product
- Choose a strong, unique password — Postiz does not currently support two-factor authentication, so your password is your primary line of defense
- Give each team member their own login rather than sharing credentials
- Regularly review connected platforms under Settings → Providers and remove any you no longer use
- Re-authenticate a platform connection if posts stop publishing — OAuth tokens can expire
